I just read an article this morning about Patrick Crayton and the interviewer referenced the big play of him giving up on the route towards the end of the game.

OK maybe that play should have been made but why does the media keep taking about that play instead of what I think was an easier and even bigger play not made earlier that in fact may have cost us the game.

The play was when Romo eluded a sack and flipped a nice pass under the arm of the oncoming rusher right into the basket of Crayton who had a wide open field for 60 plus yards for a TD. Of course he dropped it and we had to punt.

I know we all remember that play it is just frustrating me that the media does not bring it up nearly as much as Crayton "giving up on the route at the end of the game". hat was a timing thing and I am not sure he even makes that play.

When you see a ball bounce harmlessly off of someone's arms you KNOW that is a play that has to be made...

I agree totally. And Crayton, as I recall, had a lot of open field in front of him. If he makes that catch, I say the Cowboys get at least to midfield, demoralize a Giants defense that thought Dallas was on the ropes on third and long, get at least a FG (adding to the lead they already had at the time,) take another 4-5 minutes off the clock, and win the game.

At least, that's how it plays out in my dreams at night... *sigh* ...woulda, coulda shoulda...

Well I wouldn't call 50 catches for almost 700 yards and 7 TDs nothing but I do think I understand your point - he didn't exactly stand out as a premiere receiver but he was somewhere in the middle of the pack...
